About
Alison is a Kent based textile designer and illustrator with a strong identity and perspective, specialising in vibrant graphic prints.
“Delaroche’s painting ‘The Execution of Lady Jane Grey’ completely blew me away on my first ever visit to the National Gallery in London. How anyone could paint with such magic inspired me. I was gutted when my mum wouldn’t let me buy a poster. Too inappropriate for an 8 year old, apparently!
The influence of that first trip to the National Gallery sparked a lifetime obsession with art and combined with my early fixation with drawing fuelled my desire to create.
Fortunately my focus shifted from scenes of impending doom and my natural flair for drawing and design led me to textile design where I have had a successful career to date.”
